Finger Picker privacy policy
Finger Picker is made by AppVortex ("we"). This policy explains what information the app uses, why, and the choices you have. The short version: there are no accounts and we never learn your name or email from the app. The free version shows ads from Google. We use a few trusted services to run the app: Google AdMob for ads, Google Analytics for Firebase to see how the app is used, Firebase Crashlytics to find and fix crashes, and RevenueCat to manage purchases. If you pay to remove ads, the app stops asking for them.
Who is responsible
AppVortex is responsible for the app and this policy. You can reach us at hello@appvortex.app.
What we collect
The app has no accounts. We receive three kinds of information, all through the services named below and none containing your name or email: usage statistics about how the app is used, crash reports when the app goes wrong, and a record of your purchases. Each is linked to a random ID, not to you. Information for ads goes directly to Google, as explained below.
Ads
The free version shows ads served by Google AdMob. To show and measure ads and to prevent fraud, Google receives information from your phone, such as its advertising ID, IP address (from which a rough location such as your country can be worked out), the kind of phone and system it is, and which ads you see and tap. Google handles this under its own privacy policy: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
Your choices about ads
In the EU, the UK and Switzerland, the app asks for your consent before Google may use information to personalise ads. If you say no, you still see ads, but they are not personalised. On iPhone, the app asks for permission before the advertising ID may be used, and you can change this in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. You can change your ad choices at any time under Privacy choices in More settings. You can also reset or delete the advertising ID in your phone's settings.
Usage statistics
With your consent, the app uses Google Analytics for Firebase to count how it is used, so we can see which features people like and what to improve. It records things like when the app is opened, which screens are shown, how many rounds are played, which settings are chosen and which purchases are made, together with the app version, the kind of phone and system, your language, your country or region, and a random ID for this installation of the app. Google uses your IP address to work out the country but does not store it. The statistics never include your name, email or the touches on the screen. In the EU, the UK and Switzerland, Analytics only runs if you agree to it when the app asks, and you can turn it off at any time under Privacy choices in More settings. Statistics are kept for 14 months. If we ask Google for technical help with Analytics, its support staff may look at these statistics, only to solve our problem. Crash reports
If the app crashes or hits a serious error, it sends a crash report to Firebase Crashlytics, a Google service. A report contains what went wrong in the app, the app version, the kind of phone and system version, the time, and a random ID for this installation of the app. It contains no name, email, location or advertising ID. We use reports only to find and fix problems. Firebase privacy: firebase.google.com/support/privacy
Purchases and subscriptions
One-time purchases and subscriptions are paid through Google Play or the App Store, under their terms and privacy policies. We never see your name, card or payment details. To check and unlock what you bought, the app uses RevenueCat. RevenueCat receives the purchase receipt from the store, a random ID it creates for this installation, and basic information such as the app version, the kind of phone and system, your country and IP address. It shows us your purchase history under that random ID, never who you are. RevenueCat privacy: revenuecat.com/privacy. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel them, which you do in your Google Play or App Store account. Use Restore purchases to get them back on a new phone.
What stays on your phone
Your choices in the settings menu (theme, shape, countdown length, sound and vibration), your ad choices and what you have bought are saved on your phone so they are remembered next time. They are not sent to us, and uninstalling the app deletes them.
Touches on the screen
The app reads where fingers touch the screen only to play the game. Touches are not recorded, stored or shared.
Permissions
On Android the app uses the internet to load ads, check purchases and send statistics and crash reports, network state to know when it is online, the advertising ID for ads (see above), and vibration for the buzz you feel when you touch the screen and when someone wins (only while Vibration is on). On iPhone it may ask for permission to track, as described above. The app does not ask for your location, contacts, camera, microphone or files.
Why this is allowed
Personalised ads and usage statistics rely on your consent. Non-personalised ads, ad measurement and fraud prevention rely on our legitimate interest in offering the app for free. Crash reports rely on our legitimate interest in keeping the app working. Purchase records are needed to provide what you paid for and to meet our tax and accounting duties.
Where information goes
Google (AdMob and Firebase) and RevenueCat may process information outside the EU, including in the United States, with safeguards such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the EU standard contractual clauses.
How long it is kept
On your phone, until you uninstall the app. Usage statistics are kept for 14 months and crash reports for 90 days. Purchase records are kept for as long as they are needed to provide your purchases and as the law requires for tax and accounting. Information Google receives for ads is kept as described in its privacy policy.
Your rights
You can withdraw consent at any time under Privacy choices. Depending on where you live, you also have the right to access, correct or delete information about you, to object to its use and to complain to a data protection authority (in Slovakia, the Office for Personal Data Protection). The information we receive is linked to random IDs, not to you, so we cannot look you up by name. For ad data, please use the options above or contact Google. For usage statistics, crash reports or purchase records, write to us and we will help as far as we can identify them.
Links out of the app
Contact, Rate the app and Share the app hand you over to your email app, app store or share menu. Anything you send from there is covered by those apps' own privacy policies.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has used the app in a way that shared information, contact us and we will help.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be in the app and on our website, with a new date at the top.
